Dear UNCC Members,
The deadline for submitting 2007 data into
UNCC/CGAData Information Reporting Tool (DIRT) is APRIL 30, 2008.
Please advise the appropriate parties within your organization who are
responsible for reporting this information of this important date.
Colorado law mandates the reporting of damage data 90 days after the
restoration of such facilities by underground facility owners (CRS 9-1.5 103
(7)(b).
In 2006, UNCC migrated the damage reporting
and collection process with the Common Ground Alliance (CGA)
www.commongroundalliance.com. Please be advised that all damage
reports submitted for 2007, and all corresponding years to follow, through
the UNCC/CGA Virtual Private DIRT application will be shared with the CGA
Data & Evaluation Committee, unless you stipulate your intention not to
share this data. Please notify me in writing no later than April 1,
2008 if it is your intention not to share this data with CGA.
As you know, security and anonymity is a
priority with damage reporting at all levels. For details on the
security model, visit the CGA website to review the DIRT Security White
Paper. Moving forward UNCC will follow the same time line and
guidelines for collecting data that CGA establishes. The Colorado
Damage report will continue to be published by UNCC and sent to the Colorado
Public Utilities Commission. Next year, the submission for 2008 data
will be required by March 31, 2009. This dead line is supported under
Colorado One-Call law.
TO MEET THE APRIL 30,
2008 DEADLINE, STAKEHOLDERS HAVE 11 WEEKS REMAINING FOR SUBMISSION OF 2007
DATA.
