Update - Underground
Notification Bill:

We are writing to give you a final update on where things stand with the Underground Notification Bill.
As we wrote to you last week, we met with a working group of stakeholders on February 21 to discuss whether we could successfully reach consensus on language for a bill in 2007. The working group concluded that consensus language could not be reached in time. Accordingly, the Colorado Contractors Association has asked the sponsor to withdraw the bill. The sponsor has informed us that the bill will be formally killed when it comes up at the Senate Local Government Committee meeting tomorrow (March 1).
We remain dedicated to improving safety and efficiency with Colorado’s notification and location system, and intend to keep working towards consensus language this summer for a 2008 bill.
