Through the generosity of our sponsors, contributors and employees, the Utility Notification Center of Colorado raised $2,891.50 for the American Cancer Society. This fundraising effort, "Relay for Life," was held from Saturday, May 13 beginning at 4 p.m. until 7 a.m. Sunday was endorsed by the city of Golden and is a fundraising event held each year at various locations throughout the state and the Denver metropolitan area. Participants are composed of various companies and individuals who walk the track. It is with sincere gratitude that UNCC thanks its employees, team members and contributors for their dedication and tireless efforts.
Prior to the "Relay for Life," other fundraising efforts by UNCC were held for the benefit of the American Cancer Society. UNCC held a "Sloppy Joe" luncheon along with a bake sale (baked goods provided by UNCC employees). Sodas and water were donated by ELM Locating Company, Underground Locating Inc.; Jim Hansen with Xcel Energy helped serve the luncheon. The luncheon was well received by the public, employees of UNCC and their families.
Employees at UNCC participated in purchase of raffle tickets that included a "day off" prize and another was a "jeans week" lottery. Candied nuts were donated by "Oh Nuts," for purchase by employees and "cancer" bracelets were sold for additional revenue.
Until this dreadful cancer disease can be eradicated, we will continue our fundraising efforts. Please call Brent Summer at 303-205-6365 or
