UNCC experienced a telecommunications malfunction Thursday night 8/17/06 into Friday morning which affected the after-hours emergency operations. The incident occurred between 5:40pm-5:00am at the request of Qwest Communications to perform a T-1 migration. UNCC is currently in the process of calling each organization affected by the malfunction to insure that the proper location of underground facilities has been performed. UNCC is committed to the safety and protection of all persons involved in the damage prevention industry, and we are reviewing and revising current procedures in response to this occurrence, and apologize for any inconvenience or harm that it may have caused. Preventative measures are being put into place to eliminate the possibility of future occurrences.
